1) Account Penalties
Cheating and gaining advantages over other players through the means of bug exploitation, third-party application, hacking tools or others is completely unacceptable. This document defines each type of penalty and the punishment that is incurred or how they would potentially impact you and/or your game account.
The main function of the game Support staff (Game Masters) is to ensure that players who are currently in the game world can enjoy the experience to its full potential. Much of our time is spent reimbursing lost items, resolving bugs, and generally helping players who are experiencing difficulties. However, sometimes disciplinary action must be taken against disruptive players who are causing damage to other's play experiences or the service itself. Though taking disciplinary action is never pleasant, we must take action against certain individuals in order to maintain the quality of service for all.
1-a : The Penalty System
There are basically 4 levels or steps in the Penalty System, with each subsequent act of violation earning a heavier punishment. Any time a player is found in violation of our policies, we hope to give only the most minor of penalties (Warnings). However, we must also factor in the severity of the infraction and how often the player has violated our policies in the past. Based on these factors, the penalty may be moved up the Penalty System, up to and including Account Termination.
Level 1 : Warning
Should you receive a warning from game support staff or the game administration but do not know why you have received the warning or are concerned about your account, please use the website support helpdesk to contact site support. Please indicate the warning code sent to you in your case report. Often, the concern is that the status of the account you are using is in jeopardy. For most times, this is not true.
Receiving a Warning is nothing more than an education in policy for minor issues and a tool our in-game support team uses to track player behavior. While it is not a good idea to ignore a warning and continue the inappropriate action(s), warnings on an account have very few, if any, long-term repercussions. Basically, a warning is just a reminder that one or some of the things you are doing in the game is inappropriate or wrong and should be stopped. Warnings are:
- The most minor account penalty
- The most prevalent of all account penalties
- Not disruptive to your account
Level 2 : 24 Hour Suspension
24 Hour suspensions are most often assigned when the player has repeated an action he/she has been previously warned for. 24 Hour suspensions reinforce the unheeded education given via a Warning or on the first instance of a policy violation that we do not consider minor. These should be assigned when the importance of policy adherence needs to be stressed, but the violation is not excessive. 24 Hour suspensions are:
- Relatively minor account penalty
- Somewhat common
- A brief service interruption
Level 3 : 3 Day Suspension
3 Day suspensions are assigned when a player needs to be removed from the game for an extended period of time or the player has repeatedly violated policy in a relatively brief period of time. 3 Day suspensions are somewhat rare, as they are only given for serious policy violations or repeated policy abuse. 3 Day suspensions are:
- A serious account penalty
- Somewhat rare
- An extended service interruption
We may choose to elevate or extend the duration of account suspension to assist in any investigations or case study at any time without prior notice to the owner of the account in question.
Level 4 : Account Termination
Accounts are terminated when a player has excessively and/or grossly violated our policies. When an account is terminated, the player is no longer able to access the account. Account Terminations are rare and represent a player who is unable to abide by our rules and insists on negatively affecting other players' enjoyment of the game or harming the service itself. Account Termination is:
- The most serious account penalty
- Very rare
- A permanent service revocation
We, the publisher and game administration want the game world to be a fun and safe environment for all players. Perfect World is an MMORPG, and the key words are "Massively Multiplayer". In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While certain actions may not bother you, consider the fact that these same actions may be perceived in a completely different manner by those around you. Please try to take into account all the players different cultures and diversity when interacting with them.

2) Game Master Interaction Policy
Who are the game support personnel? And what can they do for me? This document gives you an outline as to what these support personnel can do to help you and how you should communicate with them.
At some point during your game playing, you will most probably interact with a Game Master (GM) for one reason or another. Whether this interaction is in response to a petition for assistance you submitted or in regards to an issue he or she has approached you for, it is important to be sure you are speaking to a real GM. There are four methods by which a GM may contact you; clarification on what constitutes each category can be found by clicking on the links below :
Once you have established that you are communicating with an in-game representative of Cubinet Interactive, we would like for your experience interacting with GMs to be expedient and pleasant. Although we understand you may be upset about the topic being discussed, we expect you to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. We take the following categories very seriously, clarification on what constitutes each category can be found by clicking on the links below.
- Impersonating a GM
- Defrauding or Attempting to Defraud a GM
- Disobeying or Ignoring GM Instructions
- Harassing the GM Staff
- Excessive use of Abusive Language
• In-Game Chat
Most often, GMs will contact you in-game via whispers/personal chat. You can tell whether or not the person contacting you really is a GM by the < GM > tag preceding in their name.
• In-Game Live
On occasion, a GM will need to make him or herself visible when contacting you. Visible GMs can be identified by the GM icon that is located above their avatar after their character name.
You can identify an email from a GM because it will be from help@world2.com.my or gm@world2.com.my. Though this holds true for most emails from GMs, occasionally we will send emails from other email addresses, such as admin@world2.com.my. However, all email communication from our GM staff will have the @world2.com.my suffix.
• Impersonating a GM
Unfortunately, some players will attempt to use the authority vested in GMs to take advantage of others. All GMs will contact players using one of the methods detailed above, if they do not appear this way, they are not official Cubinet Interactive employees and should be reported to the GM staff. Though we have little tolerance for impersonation in any capacity, if evidence of an attempt to use this impersonation to defraud or scam another player is found, serious action will be taken
• Defrauding or Attempting to Defraud a GM
Whenever possible, we try to give players the benefit of the doubt in questionable situations. We hope players do not attempt to take advantage of this trust, and provide their full cooperation. However, if we later find that an attempt was made to defraud a GM, the offending player may have action taken against them. Attempts to defraud a GM include, but are not limited to, misdirecting a GM's attention, withholding information, providing false information, and any attempt to "trick" a GM.
• Disobeying or Ignoring GM Instructions
At times it may be necessary for a GM to ask a player to perform certain actions or refrain from performing other actions. In addition, if a GM contacts you regarding a violation of policy, please try to be as cooperative as possible. In any situation, the GMs will be attempting to preserve the enjoyment of the game for the majority of players and any interference with this work may result in an account penalty.
• Harassing the GM Staff
Time spent dealing with problems that have already been settled keeps the GM staff from addressing other players' more immediate problems. If a single player or multiple players repeatedly send abusive tells, abusive requests, or multiple requests on the same settled ssue to the GM staff, they will be asked to stop, and if they continue, may receive an account penalty.
• Excessive use of Abusive Language
It is understandable that a player contacting the GM staff might be upset over an issue stemming from an experience they had in the game. However, the use of abusive or foul language directed toward the GM Staff is inappropriate and unproductive. If a player uses this type of language when communicating with a GM, they will be asked to stop, and if they continue, may receive an account penalty.
If a player is found to have violated any of these categories, he/she may:
- Be temporarily suspended from the game
- Have his/her in-game chatting function temporarily disabled
- Have his/her account temporarily suspended pending punishment
* IMPORTANT : Repeated violation of any area of the Terms of Use (ToU), including the areas detailed above, will often result in temporary account suspension.
It is important to follow these guidelines in the immediate situation when dealing with a GM. A GM will never ask you to do anything that would compromise an account or its contents. Though the GM's motives may be unclear, there may well be a valid justification for the request, but the GM may be unable to articulate this for various reasons. Rather than disobeying in protest against the request being made or the action being taken, please oblige him/her and later express your concerns to world2@cubinet.com. Emails sent to this address go directly to the Senior and Lead GMs, who will investigate and address any instances of potentially inappropriate GM actions.
GMs will make every attempt to show you the respect you deserve as a valued customer. We ask that you, in turn, show us the same respect. We take no joy in assigning account penalties, but sometimes must do so to preserve the integrity of the service. We look forward to our interactions with the players and hope to resolve issues quickly and painlessly so you can get back to enjoying the game.

3) Game Play Policy
The goal of the game is to establish and maintain the most immersive environment possible. However, we need you, the player’s help in order to accomplish this. Read our policy to better understand the social responsibilities gamers have in the Perfect World universe. Please keep in mind that these rules are in addition to all the policies listed here.
Creating an immersive world that holds true to the storyline of the Perfect World universe is the driving motivation behind the game. Within this environment you will embark on epic adventures, gain friendships and forge alliances, and wage immense wars. Cultivating an environment that allows this level of immersion rests largely upon the shoulders of the player, the adventurer.
To help you accomplish this task, we have created a set of rules of conduct or guidelines. Keep in mind that each section of this policy is in addition to the policies currently being enforced on all servers.
If you find another player acting in a manner that contradicts the spirit of the guidelines detailed below, you must first verbally request that the offending player to discontinue his/her behavior. If the actions continue after this request, only then should you contact a Game Master (GM).
3-a : Verbal/Physical Harassment Targeting Role-Players
This category includes:
- Players that specifically target other players for verbal/physical abuse (not limited to offensive language).
If a player is found to be targeting another player with the specific intent to harass, he/she may:- Have his/her account temporarily suspended.
- Have his/her in-game chatting abilities temporarily suspended.
-
Out of Character (OOC) Discussion and Use of General Chat
Detailed below is the language policy enforced in the game.- The General Chat Channel should only be used for finding Party Groups, and various other discussions pertaining to the game story, game-related topics, and continuity such as quests, selling of items…etc.
- The General Chat Channel should NOT be used for any "Off-topic," Non-Storyline, or non game-related discussions.
- Guild Chat will not be policed for any of the above restrictions.
- All normal harassment rules still apply.
- Be given a warning.
IMPORTANT
- This policy is in addition to the policies currently being enforced on all servers.
- Repeatedly violating any part of the Role-Play Server policy, as well as any part of the Terms of Use (ToU), will often result in temporary account suspension.
- Aside from the naming rules, GMs will only take action against players who are violating this policy if the player has already been asked to stop and still continues the violating action.
In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different character backgrounds than your own. Remember to be respectful of those around you.

4) Naming Policy
Your choice of a character name is a very important first step that you must make in Perfect World. To help you get started, we have created some guidelines to assist you in determining if your chosen name is appropriate.
One of the first adventures you will embark upon within Perfect World will be that of choosing a character name. While your subsequent exploits should prove infinitely more exhilarating, great care should be given to name selection. The first impression other players have of you will be based on your name, so it's best to start off correctly. While choosing the perfect name for your character, guild, or pet is generally left to your discretion, we ask that you refrain from using certain types of names. These types of names are detailed in the categories below. If a name is found that violates these policies we will change the name and take further action if the name is inappropriate. In addition, the GM staff will only change a name that has been found in violation of this policy; we are unable to change character names upon request.
Below are guidelines to help you determine whether or not the name you have chosen is appropriate for your character, guild, or pet. Hopefully, we encompass all manner of barred names; however there may be inappropriate names which do not fit into any of these categories. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis, and in extreme cases, take action beyond what is detailed here.
4-a : Highly Inappropriate
Names which fall under the following categories are deemed to be highly inappropriate.
- Racial/Ethnic/National
- Promotes racial/ethnic hatred

- Sexual Orientation
- Insults to any aspect of sexual orientation of any kind
- Obscene/Vulgar
- Crude and offensive in nature
- Inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
- Pornographic in nature
Though we have varying tolerance for repeated abuse of each category, any name that violates one of these categories will most likely:
- Be forced to choose a new name
- Be temporarily suspended from the game
4-b : Moderately Inappropriate
Names which fall under the following categories are deemed to be mildly inappropriate:
-
Harassing or Defamatory
- Insulting reference to other players, characters, Cubinet employees, groups of people or individuals

- Be forced to choose a new name
- Be given a warning
4-c : Restricted
Names which fall under the following categories are restricted and will most likely not receive an account penalty on the first instance. The severity and actions will be decided by GM staff and/or Cubinet Interactive administration. The categories are:
- Registered or non-registered Trademarks
- Copyrighted text/information
- Pure Gibberish
- Real World References
- Partial or Complete Sentences
Though we have varying tolerance for repeated abuse of each category, any name that violates one of these categories will most likely:
- Be forced to choose a new name
IMPORTANT
- Repeated violation of any area of the Terms of Use (ToU), including the areas detailed above, will often result in temporary account suspension.
- This policy is not language-restrictive. Names that fall under this policy will always be subject to the repercussions listed, whether they are inappropriate in English or any other language.
- Questionable names may not be changed immediately, but at a later date, pending further review. Cubinet reserves the right to change any names we deem inappropriate or that violate policy without prior notice.
- Players found to be in violation of the above policies may be assigned a randomly generated or pre-selected temporary name for their character, guild, or pet. An E-mail will be sent to the account's registered E-mail address with instructions on how to change his/her temporary name to one of their choice.
We want Perfect World to be a fun and safe environment for all players. Perfect World is a widely played MMORPG among many people the world over. In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While a certain name may not be offensive to you, consider the fact that that same name may have a completely different effect on someone else.
5) Harassment Policy
To ensure your time spent in Perfect World is safe and enjoyable, we have broken down what types of language and behavior are inappropriate and the penalties associated with each type of infraction. If the language you wish to use is generally not acceptable in the real world, it should not be used in Perfect World as well.
Words can be tools of communication or even hurtful weapons . Throughout your travels in Perfect World, you will be using these tools to achieve your goals, whether those are finding the perfect group to help you with a quest or negotiating the price on that equipment you have had your eye on. As anyone knows, words can cause great pain when used incorrectly. The use of inappropriate and offensive language in general, or against another player is not allowed. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis and take action as necessary. To help prevent the harassment of other players, we have implemented some in-game tools that players can use to help protect themselves from such abuse.
-
The player black list: By adding a player’s character name in the black list, the player will no longer hear any form of standard chat from the character name being blacklisted.
-
The Profanity Filter: By default, all inappropriate words in our profanity database will be filtered. They will appear on screen as symbols.
Below are guidelines to help you determine whether or not the language you have chosen is appropriate for Perfect World. Hopefully, we encompass all manner of barred language; however there may be inappropriate language that does not fit into any of these categories. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis, and in extreme cases, take action beyond what is detailed here.
5-a : Highly Inappropriate
Language which falls under the following categories is deemed to be highly inappropriate:
- Racial/Ethnic/National
- Promotes racial/ethnic hatred
- Racial/ethnic slur
- Extreme Sexuality/Violence
- Refers to extreme/violent sexual acts
- Refers to extremely violent real life actions
- Real-Life Information and Threats
- Refers to violence that is not related to the game universe
- Any real life information about players or Cubinet employees
- Sexual Orientation
- Insults to any aspect of sexual orientation of any kind
Though we have varying tolerance for repeated abuse of each category, any language that violates one of these categories will most likely result in:
- Being given a warning
- Having your account temporarily suspended
- Possibly being given a Final Warning, any further ToU violations resulting in account termination
5-b : Moderately Inappropriate
Language which falls under the following categories is deemed to be moderately inappropriate:
- Area Disruption
-
Disruption of player organized events or gatherings
-
Excessive use of in-game sounds or visuals
-
Excessively castings spells or using skills with noticeable effects in crowded areas
-
Impeding or blocking access to an NPC, doorway or portal

Though we have varying tolerance for repeated abuse of each category, any language that violates one of these categories will most likely result in:
- Being given a warning
- Having your account temporarily suspended if the behavior continues
5-c : Other Categories
There are two other categories of harassment that are not necessarily related to the language used. These are listed below.
-
Physical Harassment
The developer has taken steps to ensure all physical type harassment (i.e. stealing resources, kill stealing (KS), training) is addressed and is being continually being worked on. Forms of physical harassment in the game will not be addressed by the GM staff, but instead with a development resolution, if warranted. This however does not include abusing game mechanics/exploiting or disrupting zones/areas to cause another player grief or distress.
-
Ongoing Harassment
Harassment can take many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassment, either physical or verbal, can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being made uncomfortable in Perfect World.
5-d : Situational Factors
The action taken may be as lenient or severe as warranted than those listed for each category. The major factor in considering what action to take is the number of people who the language is understandable or visible to. These fall into three categories as below:
-
Public
We consider language to be public when said in the "General" and "Trade" channels. Since comments in these channels are visible to the largest number of players, we take harassment in these channels very seriously. Abuse of language in these mediums will receive at least the penalty listed above, if not additional repercussions.
-
One-to-One or One-to-Few
This group includes private "whispers" or party chat. Though we enforce all rules in these channels, the number of people affected will be taken into consideration, and penalties may not be as harsh as stated above.
-
Guild Chat
Since your participation in guild chat is "at will," we take a much more lenient stance in these channels. Only the most severe harassment (i.e. Racial/Ethnic, Extreme Sexual/Violence, Real-life Threats) will be considered.
IMPORTANT
- Repeated violation of any area of the Terms of Use (ToU), including the areas detailed above, will often result in temporary account suspension.
- This policy is not language-restrictive. Language that falls under this policy will always be subject to the repercussions listed, whether it is inappropriate in English or any other language.
- Players found to be in violation of the above policies will have an E-mail sent to the account's registered E-mail address with any details regarding their account penalties.
We want Perfect World to be a fun and safe environment for all players. Perfect World is an MMORPG with thousands of players worldwide. In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. While certain language may not be offensive to you, consider the fact that that same language may have a completely different effect on someone else.

6) Exploitation and Client/Server Manipulation Policy
This section details Cubinet Interactive's stance on the use of third-party programs or utilities, bug exploitation, usage of user interface modifications, and client/server manipulation. The factor that links these various policies is that they are all considered "cheating" and our intent is to keep the game fair for all players.
Perfect World has been carefully designed to provide a fair gaming environment for all players. Any activities not intended by game design which affect the economy, the client, player characters or the world itself have a tremendous negative impact on the potential enjoyment for all players. The effects of these activities take many forms including a bloated game economy, server instability, and allowing unauthorized access to accounts, computers, and player data. As such, we take the following issues very seriously and take swift and appropriate action on all players involved in these malicious activities related to Perfect World.
Below are guidelines detailing the repercussions to expect should we discover evidence of these unauthorized activities. We reserve the right to evaluate each incident on a case by case basis, and in extreme cases, take action beyond what is detailed here.
• Bug Exploitation
The developers have a large scale Quality Assurance team who test the game and search out and try to isolate bugs and design inconsistencies within Perfect World. However, no one can resolve each and every bug in such a deep and complex game accessed simultaneously by thousands of players. You may come across the occasional bug in the course of your game play. Some bugs are minor and do not affect gameplay, but sometimes these bugs can be used to provide an unfair advantage to certain players or affect the service itself. Factors included in determining the appropriate penalty/punishment:
Whether or not the exploit is performed intentionally, maliciously, and/or repeatedly Whether or not the exploit damages another character, their gameplay, the service itself and/or the game’s economy Whether or not an attempt has been made to conceal the exploit's useIf a player is found to have abused/distributed an exploit, he/she may:
Bug exploitation that we consider extreme includes, but is not limited to:
Be given a warning if exploitation is unintentional and no attempt has been made to hide its occurrence Have his/her account temporarily suspended In extreme cases the account will be terminated immediatel
Any exploit that has a severe negative impact on a game's economy Causing disruption in service or intentionally crashing a serverWhile these penalties may seem harsh, this type of abuse is very serious and has no place within Perfect World or any online game realm due to its negative effect on other players or the service itself.
• Abuse of Game Mechanics
While bug exploitation involves the abuse of what is essentially a programming mistake or error, the abuse of game mechanics is the act of taking advantage of the limitations of the game systems. Since the line between the sanctioned use and the abuse of game mechanics is sometimes unclear, we prefer to educate players before taking any action against the account being used. This category includes using/distributing game mechanics in a manner unintended by their design that:
- Damages another character, their gameplay, the service itself and/or its economy
If a player is found to have abused/distributed such game mechanics, he/she may:
- Be given a warning
- Subsequent related offenses will result in temporary suspension of related accounts
• Unapproved Third Party Software
A third party program is any file or program that is not a part of Perfect World software, but is used to gain an advantage in the game, such as increasing your movement speed or teleporting from one place to another beyond what is allowed by game design. It also includes any programs that obtain information from the game that is not normally available to the regular player or that transmit or modify any of the game files. Normally, this classification does not include UI modifications, except those UIs that require an external application to function.Any external applications that are used in conjunction with Perfect World can cause quite a few unwanted side effects. Some of the major possible results of the use of third party programs can be instability of the game to the point that a player "crashes" from the game quite often. External programs can also be used to transmit viruses, spyware, and other unwanted programs into a player's computer. Third party programs can also be used to obtain information from the player's computer, such as account, password, and personal information. If a player is found to have used such a program, he/she may:
- Have his/her account temporarily suspended
- Have further action taken, up to and including account termination, based on severity
• Malicious UI Modifications
We definitely want people to be creative and create their own UIs utilizing custom menu configurations, graphics, and even sounds. Anything that can be coded to modify the style and the look of the UI is fair game, as long as the modifications are done to the sanctioned internal files of the game. However, anything done to the UI to gain any sort of an unfair advantage over other players is unacceptable. If a player is found to have modified a UI so that they gain an unfair advantage in the game over others, he/she may:
- Have his/her account temporarily suspended
- Have further action taken, up to and including account termination, based on severity
• Data Stream Manipulation and Data Mining
Manipulation of the data stream involves a player altering the flow of information between Perfect World servers and his/her computer while data mining involves a player extracting information from said information that is not intended to be public. Data stream manipulation can be the alteration of either the incoming information or the outgoing information, and can be as minor as the manipulation of one byte of a packet, or the "sniffing" of packets for any reason. If a player is found to have altered the data stream or performed any data mining, he/she may:
- Have his/her account temporarily suspended
- Have further action taken, up to and including account termination, based on severity
IMPORTANT
- Repeated violation of any area of the TOU, including the areas detailed above, will often result in temporary account suspension.
- A violation of any of these categories could potentially overlap with another. In situations where this is the case, we will default to the most severe infraction and take action appropriate to that category.
We want Perfect World to be a fun and safe environment for all players. Perfect World is an MMORPG with thousands of players worldwide. In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. Abusing exploits upsets the game balance and unfairly affects those players who do not perform such exploits. You, the player should take part in making sure that it stays fair and make the game enjoyable for all.

7) Scam Policy
This section details what an in-game scam is, what penalties will be incurred to those who engage in this activity and what to do if you get scammed. Obviously, our goal in providing Perfect World is to promote an enjoyable experience for our players. Being scammed is definitely NOT described as an enjoyable experience. Severe action will be taken against known habitual scammers. Simply put, there is no room in Perfect World for players who wish to engage in this sort of behavior.
However, engineering positive outcomes from interactions with other players is just as much a skill as winning PvP duels or completing quests and good judgment is the first line of defense against scamming. However, we realize even the most skilled and alert player can fall victim to clever scams occasionally. This document is broken into the following three sections:
- What will happen if you are found scamming another player
- A scam prevention FAQ
- Tips to avoid becoming the victim of a scam
• Scamming another Player
This category includes:
- Acquiring items or any other "possessions" from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud (Scamming)
If a player is found to have perpetrated a scam, he/she may:
- Have his/her account temporarily suspended
- Have further action taken, up to and including account termination, based on severity
IMPORTANT
- Repeated violations of any area of the Terms of Use (ToU), including the area detailed above, will often result in temporary account suspension.
What is a scam?
A scam is the act of acquiring items or any other possession from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud. In short, using any sort of deception to gain at another's expense. If you are unsure if your particular case fits the criteria of a scam, contact a GM in-game or through the Helpdesk and they will be able to assist you.Example:
[Scammer] says: Give me your sword and I will enhance it.
*Victim hands sword to scammer*
[Scammer] says: Haha Noobie! You won’t get your sword back.
- What should I do if I get scammed?
If you fall victim to a scam, immediately petition your case within game. In situations where we can verify that a scam took place, a GM may attempt to intervene and assist the victim with the recovery of his/her item(s).
- Will I get my item back?
Due to many variables involved with item reimbursement and types of scams, item reimbursement is not guaranteed. We will make every effort to verify your particular case and, once verified, will try to assist in returning the item to you. Please refer to our Character & Item Restoration Policy for further details on recovering lost items.
- I was scammed again! Can you help me?
We want players to learn from their mistakes as much as possible and take measures to ensure the same mistakes are not made again. We do not want players to become career victims and utilizing the GM Staff as a crutch or shield versus scams. To this end, players will only be allowed a certain number of item restorations, including those lost to scams.
- I partied with a looter, can I get the item that I am entitled to returned?
Players that loot an item out of turn or against the group's wishes do not fit in the criteria of a scammer, and will not be investigated by the GM Staff.
- I purchased an item out of game and have not received my item! Can the GMs assist?
If you are scammed out of game, we will be unable to assist you. We do not support, condone, or investigate these types of transactions, as all data contained on Perfect World servers is the property of Cubinet Interactive and cannot be bought or sold without the express written permission of Cubinet Interactive.• Tips to Avoid Becoming the Victim of a Scam
Never give your prized possessions to anyone that you do not trust
In Perfect World there should never be a reason to hand your items to an unknown player for any reason. Such things as enhancing or upgrading your items should only be done with someone you trust 100%. Be wary and display extreme caution to any player suggests a proposal or deal that involves trust.
Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware)
Many scammers will attempt to use the auction function as their tools of trade. Be diligent on what items you decide to purchase and the costs associated with each item. Always confirm the cost of the item before bidding or purchasing. In player to player transactions, confirm the item you are trading or purchasing before accepting the trade.
Cubinet Interactive Employees will never ask you for items or gold
GMs and other Cubinet Interactive employees will never ask you to transfer your items to them. Be wary of players attempting to use the guise of being a GM or Cubinet Employee to trick you into giving him/her your possessions. If a player ever attempts to defraud you in this fashion, contact an in-game GM immediately or use the Helpdesk feature, to report the issue.
Do not participate in cross Server trades.
We do not support any trades of gold or items across servers. The risk is placed entirely on the player's shoulders. If you engage in these types of transactions, you run a huge risk of being scammed.
Be cautious in the friends you make.
Trust should be earned and not given. Be careful in the friends and alliances you choose in game. When you join a party or guild, you are now governed by other player's rules. It is your choice to stay in a guild or party if you do not agree with their methods and practices.
Keep your account information secret.
Account sharing is against our TOU. All too frequently, scamming and account hacking can be attributed to sharing an account. While you may develop strong online friends and ties, any time you share your information with another person, the security of your account is seriously compromised.
We want Perfect World to be a fun and safe environment for all players. Perfect World is an MMORPG with thousands of players worldwide. In playing this game, you will encounter thousands of other players who share different experiences and come from vastly different backgrounds. Being scammed potentially negates hours of another player's time, and is an extremely anti-social action. Don’t trust anyone you don’t know with your personal information or prized items.

8) Character & Item Restoration Policy
There are times when mistakes can occur which cause you to lose in-game items, money, or even characters. When possible, our in-game support staff may be able to assist you in the recovery of your character(s) or item(s). This policy serves to detail how we will address such situations.
Although the developers have gone to great lengths to ensure the integrity of the data on the servers and the safety of players' virtual "property" (though all data on the Perfect World service is the property of Cubinet Interactive, we use the term "property" to describe characters, items, and in-game currency), occasionally players may lose this virtual property against their wishes. Whenever possible, our Game Masters (GMs) will step in and attempt to reunite players with these lost characters and items. This document serves to specifically describe how we will address these instances.
8-a : Virtual property lost for reasons beyond a players' control
If we can verify that your loss of virtual property was the direct result of:
- A documented bug.
- An unprecedented or unscheduled service problem which caused a rollback.
- Data loss due to a problem with our service (unless due to a server database rollback).
We will attempt to:
- Restore the virtual property to the best of our abilities.
8-b : Items lost that are essential to class development
If we can verify you have lost possession of an item (for any reason) that fits all of the following categories:
- Was previously in your inventory.
- You are unable to recover yourself.
- Is essential for proper class development (i.e. a quest item needed to receive a class defining skill).
We attempt to:
- Restore the virtual property to the best of our abilities.
8-c : Virtual property lost due to user error
If we can verify that your loss of virtual property was the direct result of:
- Accidental deletion (characters, items, and in-game currency).
- Accidental sale to a merchant.
- Falling victim to a scam (please refer to our Scam Policy for further details on scams).
- Any other user error.
We will attempt to:
- Restore the virtual property to the best of our abilities.
- We reserve the right to refuse restoration if we feel an excessive number of requests have been made in this particular category (Although we understand that the occasional mistake can be made, we do not want players becoming careless and utilizing the GM Staff as a crutch) or if we deem that the request is counterproductive.
If your particular case fits any of the above criteria, you may be eligible to receive assistance with the recovery of your lost goods. Due to many variables with investigating these claims, your reimbursement, if approved, may not be immediate. Keep in mind that a player and the account registered to him/her will be permitted a limited number of instances in which the GM staff will assist with property recovery. Reimbursement of any kind is NOT guaranteed. While we will make every effort to verify and restore your loss, the decision to reimburse your loss is entirely at Cubinet Interactive’s discretion. If a player is repeatedly making poor decisions that result in lost property, we reserve the right to refuse further reimbursements. We cannot guarantee that you will receive the same statistics you had on your original item. We are also unable to restore enhancements or add-ons that these items may have possessed.
• How to start the process
For us to be able to investigate your loss, please report your case using Cubizone’s Helpdesk with the following information:
- Account name
- Character names
- Server that the characters are on
- Level, class, and race of the characters

9) Unauthorized Account Access Policy
This policy will detail the restrictions placed on account access by the Terms of Use (ToU), how to better protect yourself from having an account compromised, how to go about regaining control of an account compromise, and the repercussions for compromising an account that is not registered to you.
9-a : Perfect World Unauthorized Account Access Policy
Perfect World becomes more enjoyable the longer you play. This is because the longer you play, the better your character levels are, the better your equipment is and the more skills you will have. For most players, this process is a reward in itself. However, there are certain people who would endeavor to take (or simply destroy) the fruits of another’s labor without their consent by accessing their account without authorization (commonly referred to as “hacking” an account or an account’s security being compromised). This policy will detail the restrictions placed on account access by the Terms of Use (ToU), how to better protect yourself from having an account compromised, how to go about regaining control of an account compromise, and the penalties for compromising an account that does not belong to you.

• Limitations placed on Account Access
The ToU speaks extensively about what you may and may not do with a Cubizone account. This section highlights a few passages from the ToU that are most relevant to this policy. The core message is that you, and only you (with the exception of a minor authorized to use an account by a parent or guardian), should be accessing an account registered in your name.
Cubinet Interactive does not recognize the transfer of Accounts between individuals. You may not share your Account or password with anyone, except that if you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one (1) minor child to use the Account instead of you (in which case you may not use that Account at the same time). You are liable for all activities conducted through the Account, including any activities which may be conducted by your minor children that you allow to use your Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your User Name and password, and you will be responsible for all uses of your User Name and password whether or not authorized by you. Security of your account is your responsibility.• Tips to Prevent an Account Compromise
It takes an immense amount of time for Cubinet Interactive’s Customer Support Staff to investigate and attempt to resolve the consequences of an account compromise, during which time the subject account is usually suspended. So, taking steps to prevent an account compromise is time well spent. Due to this, we would like to reiterate that account security is the sole responsibility of the registered user of said account. As such it is your responsibility to make sure to use appropriate password protection techniques, that could include disabling file sharing, running virus checks, and other applicable measures to prevent accounts from being compromised. Listed below are a few tips to help keep an account secure:
Do not share the account information with anyone. This includes the User Name, password, password2, and IC Number. Most compromised accounts turn out to be the work of friends, family, guild members, or others that you “thought” you could trust. Do not write your password down. If you must, then do not keep it where others can find it. Places such as your wallet, under your keyboard, or with your Perfect World DVD are not good places to store it. Choose a secure password. Your password should be difficult to guess, but easy for you to remember. Here are some tips to make your password more secure:
- Be certain to use a combination of numbers and letters (a mix of upper and lower case letters is recommended).
- Avoid using words found in any dictionary or names of friends, family, pets, etc.
- Avoid using your character or account name in your password.
- Never share any identifiable information defined when creating your account with anyone.
• Third Party User Interfaces
Third party user interfaces (“Third Party UI’s”) are very popular in MMORPGs and Perfect World is no exception. Unfortunately, the use of a Third Party UI can also be risky. There are many developers of Third Party UI’s that will develop “worms” and “Trojan horse” viruses, including “key loggers” that will steal account information. Cubinet Interacative is not responsible for the damage that can be done to your account or your life that might occur from your use of a Third Party UI. The ToU specifically states that:
The use of any “user interface” other than the user interface that is included in the Perfect World Software (“Third Party User Interface”) is not recommended by Cubinet Interactive, and you hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cubinet Interactive from all claims, damages, and other losses which may arise from your use of a Third Party User Interface. At such time that Cubinet Interactive elects to post a list of approved Third-Party User Interfaces on its website, you agree that you will use only those Third-Party User Interfaces approved by Cubinet Interactive, and that you will use no other Third-Party User Interfaces in connection Perfect World.• Regaining Control of a Compromised Account
If you believe the security of the account you use has been compromised, it is imperative that you perform the following steps immediately:
Attempt to reset your password via the Account Management section of the Cubizone website. This will prevent a “hacker” from logging into your account in the future. Once you have performed this step, please ensure that the account’s security has indeed been compromised and the cause was not something innocuous, such as a forgotten password. If you are unable to reset your password and it is during normal hours of operation (Mon-Fri, 8.30AM-5.30PM +8 GMT), contact Cubinet Interactive’s Customer Service by phone at +603-22871252 for immediate account deactivation. If it is not during normal hours of operation, please send an email to Perfect World Administration at help@world2.com.my. Doing this urgently and with the utmost speed will prevent as much further damage to the account as possible. Run a virus scan for Trojans installed on your machine. Most often, access to the account was obtained through a Trojan, usually a key logger. Change the password for the email account you use. This may have been the method used to obtain your password in the first place. When an account is reported or its security appears to have been compromised, Perfect World Customer Service Staff will disable access to the account while we conduct an investigation. Once we are confident that account access privileges have been restored to the registered user (and only the registered user), we will enable access to the account.
While we will attempt to restore any items/gold missing from the account, we cannot guarantee that lost items/gold will be reimbursed. Reimbursement is only a possibility if the situation is reported within 2 weeks (14 days) from the date the account was first compromised. Additionally, restoration due to an account compromise is offered only once. Should the account become compromised in the future, we may restore deleted characters, but no reimbursement of items/gold lost will be offered.
• Penalties for Compromising an Account
This category applies to players who have:
Accessed an account reported as compromised and are not the registered user(s) of said account. Knowingly or unknowingly received items/gold from a compromised account. If a player is found to have participated in one of these acts, he/she may:
Have the transferred items/gold removed from the account. Receive an account penalty up to and including account termination if the registered user of the account perpetrated the compromise.
